The Big Feastival
As we bask in the twilight of the summer, why not head to the countryside and enjoy the great food at one of the nation’s biggest food festivals. Let’s start with The Big Feastival, which takes place on Alex James farm in Kingham, Oxfordshire. One of the good things here is this festival is family friendly. The idea is to try wonderful food from top chefs while listening to superb bands. It runs from the 23rd-25th August and attracts big crowds. You will also find a campsite on the farm – if you feel like making a weekend of it.
If you are out and about in London on 30th August – 1st September, then you’d better get yourself to Tobacco Dock for Meatopia! This has been described as a ‘‘A weekend-long love affair of meat, drink, fire and music, Meatopia UK has become a legendary event for food lovers”. Everything used at this festival has been responsibly sourced from around the globe. If you enjoy a tasty burger or a lean steak, we strongly suggest that you drag yourself and some friends to this fabulous event.
The River Cottage Festival
It is the 20th Anniversary of River Cottage and what better way to celebrate than to hold a festival! Make your way to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s beautiful farm located in Axminster on the Dorset and Devon border. On August 25th-26th, take a seat at a long table lunch in an 18th Century barn, with all the ingredients found on the farm. You will also get to enjoy loads of other rustic activities and live music. And yes! Hugh will be making an appearance over the weekend!
London Brunch Fest
Anyone for brunch? If the answer is yes, then brace yourself for one of the biggest brunch events on the go! This will be the second year of The Brunch Fest and it takes place on August 31st – September 1st in the Old Truman Brewery. This festival offers punters “coffee, booze, workshops, music, talks and the most important of all, the greatest brunch food you can imagine!” Be sure to get yourself to Shoreditch and take part in this gourmet event.
